Easter

We went to Utah to visit family there. And although it was nice to see everybody...the 'vacation' was anything but....

On Sunday, the morning after we arrived, we found out my dad was heading to the emergency room with chest pains. I spent the day with him there, while they ran tests and weren't quite sure if he had a heartattack or not. So they wanted him the following morning to go in for stress testing. After that test, they decided he needed to be admitted to the hospital. So I spent Monday with him in there and he got an angiogram and two stents put in. He came home on Tuesday and is still doing well :)

But after that I got sick with a head cold. The only thing I wanted to do was sleep. I tried to go shopping with my sister, but spent most of that time in the car because I felt awful. This head cold lasted for two days.

I started feeling a little better and managed to squeeze in an afternoon Rock Climbing with Lisa (which was a total blast!) and a visit with Rich's mom that was great for my kids (and grandma:).
Then I got some other sickness, where I had vomitting and overall ick! So Easter, I made it to church. Took a few pics. And then laid on the couch sick for the rest of the evening.

Not a fun vacation.....and not a very fun houseguest either! (Sorry Mel)
Put here are a couple of pics from Easter.

Reese got a matching dress for her and her doll. A Burlington buy...totally awesome.

Josie loved her dress, and thought she had to hold on to the flower at her waistband. I think she thought it would fall off.

Ashlynn had a really pretty blue dress but once she got home from church she changed so she could have more time to play.

Why I Went to a Tea Party

I'm a 'go-with-the-flow' sorta gal.

But you shouldn't interpret that to mean that people can sway me this way or that. The fact is I believe very strongly about certain things and this means I don't feel threatened by others' who would try to push their ideals on to me.

I believe God has a plan for us. And my knowledge of this has always made me think - what will happen will happen. I've thought that the government is never going to be perfect. Yes I vote and then I figure, no matter who's in charge it won't be great. But I go with it.

But I've decided I can no longer sit back.

America can be great.

It is great because it was founded by inspired men who were protected by God and led to their positions by Him.

America was founded by Christian Men who had days set aside dedicated to fasting and prayer for guidance from God. This country was built on Christian values and morals.

If we move away from those values, we move away from what made America work.

God made us Free. And I can't stand by and watch the government invade on my freedom. It's out of control. And...YES...maybe I should have paid more attention all my life. But the point is I'm paying attention now. And I want the government to pay attention to The American Citizens.

HaPpy BiRthDay ASHLYNN!

Today my oldest turns 10!
Has it really been ten years since I was turned away from the hospital because they said my water hadn't broken only to return 2 hours later, driving in a terrible Utah spring snowstorm?

It was conference weekend and the whole family came to watch General Conference in my delivery room while I tried to labor.

Then two weeks later I clutched my new baby in my arms as I watched the terrible news of the Columbine High School Massacre and wondered how could I ever protect her from the world?

She's had some trying times, with a blood condition called ITP...but thankfully that's resolved now.
Ashlynn is a sweetheart and a very strong spirit. She and I have our bad moments sometimes, but it's because she is so strong and learning what she is capable of doing in life. She's outgoing and friendly and is able to have great discussions on testimonies, school, and friends. We like to go swimming together at least once a week, just her and me.
For more Ashlynn click here to see her Disneyland trip when she was 3 1/2 years old:)
Happy Birthday and I love you.
